  My birthday(Reading part)

  Good morning/afternoon, everyone! I'm very glad to stand here to interpret my lesson. Today, my topic is my birthday. My lesson consists of seven aspects: Analysis of the teaching material/Analysis of the students/Analysis of the teaching procedures and so on.

  Ⅰ. Analysis of the teaching material

  Firstly, I’m going to talk about the analysis of the teaching material. This lesson is from the look and learn part of unit3 of grade 5 in Oxford English book. And the main topic of this lesson is my birthday. By studying this unit, students will be able to understand some ordinal numeral. At the same time, students can distinguish the difference between cardinal numeral and ordinal numeral.

  Ⅱ. Analysis of the students

  Secondly, I’d like to talk something about the students. My students are in grade5. They are active, curious and interested in new things.After two years’ study, they have mastered the basic English knowledge about cardinal numeral,after this class,they will know more about ordinal numeral.

  Ⅲ. Analysis of the teaching aims

  According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, after studying the teaching material and analyzing the rule of students’ growing of mind, I set the following aims.

  Knowledge aim: students can understand the basic meaning of these new words and can distinguish the difference between cardinal numeral and ordinal numeral.

  Ability aim:through this class,students’ ability of summarizing and speaking can be improved.

  Emotional aim:students will have more interest in learning English.

  Ⅳ. Analysis of the key and difficult points

  Then, let me talk something about the key point and difficult point. The teaching key point is that students can understand the basic meaning of these new words and can distinguish the difference between cardinal numeral and ordinal numeral..and the teaching teaching difficult points is that Students can summarize the basic rule of ordinal numeral.

  Ⅴ. Analysis of teaching and study methods

  Now, let me talk about teaching methods and study methods. I will mainly use task-based teaching method. In my class, Various tasks will be used for the students to help them master the new words and the sentence structure.

  Ⅵ. Analysis of the teaching procedures

  And now it comes to the most important part of my presentation which is made up of four steps:warming up,presentation,consolidation,summery and homework.

  Step 1 Warming-up

  In the warming up stage,i will ask students if they remember some numbers and check if they can speak them in right pronunciation and then sing an English song named ten little Indian boys with my students,in this way, the class atmosphere could be activated and students could be more interested in learning English..

  Step 2 Presentation

  In this stage,I will introduce these ordinal number and students are instructed to find the similarity and difference between cardinal numbers and ordinal numbers,and i believe this way can help students to memorize these ordinal numbers.and then students are required to read these words three times when i read it one time.then i will play a words game with my students. at the same time i will emphasize some special words like first/ second third /fifth /twelfth/ twentieth /thirtieth”

  In this way,students will be more likely to grasp the key and difficult knowledge point in this class in a light atmosphere.

  Step 3 consolidation

  In this stage, students are required to speak the ordinal numeral when i say the according cardinal numeral.and then i will give students five minutes to do a discussion to introduce something that they are interested in and five minutes later,i will invite some students to do the report on the stage.in this way,these new words will be more impressed in students’ mind and students will take part into the class more actively.

  Step 4 Summary and homework

  Ask students to be my assistant to help me summarize what we have learnt in this class and after class they are required to share what they have learnt with their parents.

  Ⅶ. Analysis of the blackboard Design

  At last, let me talk about my blackboard design. Which consists of 2 parts , the first part is the topic ,the second part is the vocabulary part which is made up of two parts. The right part is ordinal numeral and the left part is cardinal numeral .my blackboard is logical and neat and my students can clearly see what we have learned in this class.
